PHOTOGRAPHERS.....please help?

ok so i shoot a wedding the other day as a second photographer just for practice i used a wide angle attachment on my lens but it created a shadow on most of the pictures, is this because of the camera's built in flash would pop up? how do i remove it using photoshop? Also which set up is best for banquet halls and such?
