Why do you really "spread the word"?

Is it really because you care about my soul, Or are you more concerned about getting a pat on the head by your master? Is it so you get another jewel in your crown? Is it because you pastor said to? Do you really know why you do it? Or is it just a robotic function of the collective to imilate more people?
