Because Malik is an Arabic name used by many cultures, including Islamic, I am reluctant to advocate a name change that could affect one's standing in the Muslim community. If you are Muslim, I am afraid you need to stick with it lest you offend your parents. Perhaps, if you are Muslim, you could speak to your Imam.
